Bob Maher CMF, on the Founder's Council of our International Association.  Bob was our Chapter's Founding President and served as one of the Association's original Regional Directors, helping to start Chapters in Houston, Oklahoma City, Kansas City, St. Louis and his own hometown, Milwaukee.  He also served the Association as its second Professional Development Chair, following in the giant footsteps of Dr. James Gallagher who went on to found our Certification process and Board. 


Awarded The Lifetime Achievement Award by the ACP International in 2006... As a founding member of our Association, for giving your time in setting a direction for professional standards and a focus on technology


Currently Bob is our Chapter's President, webmaster, and Career Resource Forum Representative.  He also serves the US Country "Network" as Chair of the Certification Committee and is on the Reorganization Steering Committee.  His 2004 initiative to create our Profession's "body of knowledge" by working with each Chapter in the sharing of best practices, articles, white papers, etc.  HAS BEEN fully integrated into the new International website!

Bob has been delivering career management services since 1980.  While most of his experience has been in independent practice, he was instrumental in the start-up of a local office for a major international provider of career transition services, serving as their Senior Consultant.  Recently, during the telecom meltdown in our area, he managed consulting operations for the largest ever outplacement project handled by a local firm--the Career Control Group, an Optîmance Company. 

He champions a unique High TOUCH/ HIGH Tech philosophy in delivery services.

Helen Harkness, Ph.D. is a pioneer in career management who founded Career Design Associates, Inc. in 1978. A superb strategist and resourceful catalyst, she spurs others to act while providing resources and realistic direction for the process of change. A futurist, consultant, researcher and speaker, she is author of The Career Chase (1997); Don't Stop the Career Clock (1999); and Conquering Career Chaos (publication pending). She is regularly quoted in publications, including: USA Today, Financial Times, Los Angeles Times, International Herald Tribune, Chicago Tribune, Good Housekeeping, and many others.

She received the first Professional of the Year Award from the Association of Career Professionals International (ACP International), Dallas/Fort Worth Chapter. It is a great honor to have the award permanently carry her name, as “The Helen Harkness Professional of the Year Award.

Keith Nave, CMF, Another past President of our Chapter, is President of Career Management Partners/Lincolnshire International, is a highly respected career management professional. In fact, he was selected as recipient of the Helen Harness, PROFESSIONAL OF THE YEAR Award here in the local area.

For over fifteen years, he has coached senior executives, managers and professionals in making successful career transitions. He has authored works on career management/career transition used throughout the United States and has published articles in The National Business Employment Weekly. He frequently is invited to speak to civil/professional groups on career management issues. He is certified in administering several assessment instruments.

Active professionally in a number of professional organizations, Keith was a founding member of Dallas/Fort Worth Chapter of the ACP International and served as chapter President for 1999-2000. He was one of the first career management professionals certified by the International Board for Career Management Certification and has subsequently attained the highest level of certification as a Career Management Fellow (CMF).

Dick Ulrich is currently Sr. Vice President, Career Management Partners, Richardson, Texas.  He is a Past President of our Chapter of the ACP International.  Based on his experience and background, Dick brings a unique perspective to the human resources and career management field. Throughout his career, Dick has served as an advisor and counselor to Senior Management. His experience and training in many industry sectors as well as cultures has enabled him to frame his advice to compliment and enhance company economics.  He is Certified Consultant in the Birkman Method Assessment Program.

Dick has had a distinguished thirty-five year career with major domestic companies including assignments in two international locations, Indonesia and Yemen. Most recently, Dick spent 17 years in the oil and gas industry where he held senior HR positions with Hunt Oil Company, Mobil Oil Company and the Superior Oil Company. In his earlier career, Dick was selected by a blue ribbon panel of Pittsburgh industry leaders to install a private sector organizational design for human resource management for the 8200 employees of County of Allegheny, Pennsylvania. Dick has held HR positions with Corning Inc. and National Steel.

Al Owens has a strong combination of training professionalism and career consulting experience.  Over the past fifteen years has contracted to many of the major and national firms in our industry. Founded Albion Insight, a business training and career consulting firm, in 1986.  Has worked with many major corporate clients throughout the US.  Brings a strong sense of project management and delivery model standards to his practice.

An very supportive Professional Member of our Chapter, Al currently serves as the D/FW Chapter's Professional Development Chair Representative. Holds a BA in Behavioural Sciences from Exeter University and a MBA from London Polytechnic in the UK.

Don Carter is President, Cartgroup International, Coppell, TX, a management and career consulting, diversity and training services firm. He is a Past President, and current Treasurer of the Dallas/ Fort Worth Chapter of the ACP International.

He brings twenty-five years of international and diversified experience with Fortune 500 firms in performance management, leadership and career development, and design and facilitation of change management processes. Don’s industry experiences include executive level positions in the energy, oil and gas, engineering, economic development and consulting. During his career, Don developed and established a corporate university, designed curriculum and training delivery processes in three different languages and is a 1995 director’s recipient of the "Telly" awards for development of effective corporate communication via video.

As a communicator, he is a keynote and motivational speaker. As a career coach, he is an advisor to executives, a career transition facilitator and cultural diversity consultant. He has worked with several national career transition firms in our industry. He is certified in the Birkman Method and several national firms’ career development delivery systems.

Pam Venne, MA, LPC,

Pam Venné is a proven management style coach, licensed professional counselor and career transition consultant.  She has been an active leader at both the local and national board levels of the Society of Human Resource Managers and Association of Career Professionals International (ACP International).  During her two-year tenure as President of the Dallas/Ft. Worth chapter of ACP International, the membership more than doubled through the efforts of well-placed staff and her leadership style. She also has led the Affinity Program for the national board of ACP International.   

She has been quoted in nationally syndicated articles (Boston Globe, Dallas Morning News, and Salt Lake City Tribune) on executive coaching, career transition and its impact on the family, and retirement issues. 

Pam received her MA degree in counseling and bachelor’s degree from North Central College in Naperville, IL.  She is a licensed professional counselor (LPC) in Texas and a Certified Assessment Based Coach and Certified Manager/Leader Coach through The Behavioral Coaching Institute.
