Working with the Difficult Client
Our guest speaker for the October program will be Dr. Pamela
Johnson. In her program, "Working with the Difficult
Client", Dr. Johnson will help us understand the significant differences
between career transition and career crisis. She will also explore various
client reactions to these events and the positive role counselors can play in
recognizing and assisting their difficult clients.
Dr. Pamela B. Johnson is a skilled and licensed professional
with more than 20 years of experience as a practitioner, educator, and corporate
manager. As a private practitioner, Dr. Johnson has successfully facilitated
individual counseling and coaching, career guidance, group training and staff
development. She has had a private practice for over 12 years working with
individuals impacted by substance abuse, HIV/AIDS, and relationship issues. She
is also a published author.
Dr. Johnson holds a B.A. Degree in Communications, a M.A. Degree
in Human Behavior and Business, a M.S. Degree and Doctorate Degree of Education
in Counseling and Guidance with a minor in Business Management. She is a
Certified Dispute Mediator, a Licensed Professional Counselor by the State of
Texas, and National Certified Counselor. Dr. Johnson is a graduate of the United
Way Blue Print for Leadership, President of the North Central Texas Health
Facilities Development Corporation, and has served on the Broad of Directors for
AIDS Arms, Incorporated for 7 years. She is President of her own company Nia
Consulting and Development located in Richardson, Texas.
